George Bellows Paintings
George Bellows was an American realist painter, known for his powerful and dynamic depictions of urban life in New York City during the early 20th century. He was a member of the Ashcan school, a group of artists who sought to capture the gritty, everyday reality of modern urban life. George Bellows paintings often depict the city's crowded streets, tenements, and boxing matches, which are characterized by bold brushstrokes, strong contrasts of light and dark, and a sense of movement and energy. Bellows was also a skilled printmaker and produced many lithographs and etchings. He died in 1925.
