Charles Lucky Luciano Salvatore Lucania
Charles "Lucky" Luciano, also known as Salvatore Lucania, was a notorious American mobster and crime boss who is considered the father of modern organized crime in the United States. He rose to power in the 1920s and 1930s and was the founder and leader of the National Crime Syndicate, a federation of organized crime groups that controlled much of the illegal activity in the country, including bootlegging, gambling, and prostitution. Luciano was known for his intelligence, business acumen and his ability to lead the various criminal groups and to consolidate them into a powerful criminal organization. He was also known for his brutal tactics and his willingness to use violence to maintain control. Luciano was arrested several times and was eventually convicted of compulsory prostitution in 1936, he was sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison.
